Rev. Bill and Helen Lovelace are missionaries we support through the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM). They work in the country of Ukraine in Europe. Bill is the District Superintendent of all the United Methodist Churches in Ukraine and Moldova Annual Conference.

Helen was appointed as the Area Financial Representative for General Board of Global Ministries in Ukraine in 2008. She is also the founder of Dosvitok, meaning Daybreak, a ministry to street children in the city of Kiev. Many of the street children have parents on alcohol or drugs who are unable to house and care for their children. These children live in the streets, but this ministry provides a warm place to meet during the day with food, Bible study, education, learning skills, and Christian love. After being forced out of their housing for about a year, after much prayer, in 2007 a new site was found for Daybreak. Purchase was made of the 1st floor of a building in the same section of Kiev, but also close to a lake and park.

Prayer Requests:
Pray for Dosvitok, the Street Children Center: the children who attend the programs there; the money for mortgage payments
Pray for a new Young Mothers Program: at-risk young mothers; qualified new staff members who have been called by God to this ministry
Pray for St. Luke’s United Methodist Church: a new church start in Kiev in the Street Children Center location open to ALL; for planning and leadership
Pray for other new United Methodist Church starts in the Ukraine
